  4. introduction of the dreadnought battleship.
  5. He served in the Crimean War 1855 and the
  6. China War 1859-60. He held various commands
  7. before becoming First Sea Lord, and returned
  8. to the post 1914, but resigned the following
  9. year, disagreeing with Winston Churchill over
  10. sending more ships to the Dardanelles,
  11. Turkey, in World War I.
